He specializes in the development of products for the rubber and thermoplastic elastomers industries. He is an author of over 200 technical papers and US patents. Dr. Coran provides consulting services in areas including the following: · Developing optimum properties for rubbers by compounding and formulation, · Producing thermoplastic elastomers based on dynamic vulcanization technology, · Developing performance materials based on blends of rubbers and plastics by molten-state mixing techniques in internal mixers and twin-screw extruders, · Blending recycled waste rubbers and plastics, · Compatibilizing rubbers and plastics in their blends, · Developing rubber/fiber composites, · The dispersion of fillers, and · The manufacture and use of basic rubber chemicals, e.g., accelerators, premature vulcanization inhibitors, antidegradants, etc. Dr. Coran also conducts training sessions for scientists and technologists. |
